Managing Accounts
The Accounts page is where you configure and view all the brokerage accounts, bank accounts, and wallets connected to Ghostfolio. Each account holds a set of transactions and a cash balance that feed into your overall portfolio.
Accounts Table
The Accounts table lists every account you have added. Each row shows:
- Name — the account name you assigned (e.g., "Interactive Brokers" or "Savings Account")
- Platform — the broker or institution associated with the account
- Activities — the number of recorded transactions in that account
- Cash Balance — the current uninvested cash held in the account
- Value — the total market value of all positions within the account
- Currency — the primary currency of the account
Sorting Accounts
Click any column header — Name, Platform, Activities, Cash Balance, Value, or Currency — to sort the list. This is particularly helpful if you manage many accounts and want to quickly find which holds the most value or the most activity.
Adding a New Account
To add a new account, click the + Add Account button (usually located at the top right of the Accounts page). You will need to provide:
- A name for the account
- The platform or institution
- The account currency
Once created, you can add transactions to the account from the Activities section.
Editing or Removing an Account
Click on an account row to open its detail view. From there you can edit the account name, change the platform, adjust the cash balance, or delete the account entirely. Deleting an account also removes all its associated transactions, so confirm before proceeding.
