Understanding Your Portfolio Overview

The Overview tab is the central dashboard in Ghostfolio. When you log in, this is the first screen you see, showing your total portfolio value and today's change at the top.

Reading the Dashboard Header

At the top of the Overview tab, Ghostfolio displays three key numbers:

• Total portfolio value — the current market value of all your holdings combined
• Absolute daily change — how much your portfolio value changed today in your base currency
• Percentage daily change — today's change as a percentage of total portfolio value

For example, the demo shows 17,044.50 USD with a change of -1,229.13 (-1.91%) on a given day.

Portfolio Chart

Below the header, a chart tracks your total portfolio value over time. You can adjust the time range to see your portfolio's progression over different periods — from a single day to your entire investment history.

Navigating Between Tabs

The five tabs — Overview, Holdings, Summary, Watchlist, and Markets — are accessible from the tab bar within the main panel. Each tab offers a different lens on your data:

• Click Holdings to see your individual positions sorted by value or performance
• Click Summary to review key statistics like total invested, net return, and annualized performance
• Click Watchlist to monitor assets you are considering adding to your portfolio
• Click Markets to view current prices and trends for global indices

Currency Display

Ghostfolio supports multiple currencies and displays all values in your configured base currency. If you hold assets in different currencies, Ghostfolio converts them automatically using current exchange rates.
